We spent a lot of time researching sustainable candle waxes before deciding on the eco-friendly wax we use now, which is free from paraffin, palm oil, beeswax and soy.

Candles are never completely natural, but we can reduce our impact on the environment by choosing candles made from sustainable wax instead of paraffin, which is derived from fossil fuels.

The wax we work with at Ecopia is a completely natural luxurious coconut blend. Like any natural wax without additives, it has its quirks, so don’t be surprised if your candle develops some texture after use. This is simply the nature of eco waxes, which are full of character.

We offer eco-friendly vegan candles in a select range of fragrances, handpicked because our customers love them so much! From time to time we also produce some one-offs, so look out in the specials. Every candle is made by hand in Stockport in very small batches.

We also make some of our limited edition candle fragrances in our refill option, usually around special occasions like Mother’s Day or during the festive season.

If you’d like to order some candles, please be aware that the lead time is approximately two days to make and post your order. Candles are made in small batches to order.

Refillable candles in Stockport

Under our Stockport refill scheme, you can exchange your empty refillable eco candle jar for a freshly filled container. Simply place your first order via the deposit scheme and enjoy cheaper refills when your jar is empty.

How to clean out your refillable candle jar

The deposit you pay on your candle jar means that if you decide you don’t want a refill, the jar is still yours to keep unless you return it for your deposit back.

To use your jar you’ll first need to clean out any candle residue. It’s easy enough – just use a teaspoon to scrape out the remnants and dislodge the wick. Alternatively, you can sit the jar in a bowl of hot (but not boiling) water to melt the residue and make it easier to simply pour into the bin.

When you’ve disposed of the remnants, run the jar under the hot tap to remove any traces of remaining wax and use a dish cleaner or washing up liquid to clean the inside of the jar. Rinse and repeat if necessary.

Once clean, you can use your jar however you like! From storing paperclips or pebbles to jam making – there are loads of uses for your refillable candle jar. Alternatively, if you decide to order another candle, give us your empty when we drop off your fresh candle – it doesn’t need to be clean, we’re happy to do the elbow work ourselves!

Safety Instructions

Keep wick centred and trimmed to 1/4 inch to prevent smoking and build-up of soot. Keep the wax free from flammable materials such as wick trimmings and matches. Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Keep away from children and pets. Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Failure to follow instructions could result in fire hazard, injury, or smoke damage.
