Beeswax food wraps are a 100% natural alternative to cling film and other food coverings.
The food wraps we stock are beeswax-coated cotton squares with no added nasties, so you can be sure your food is kept fresh without the need for plastic or chemicals.
Our zero waste cotton and beeswax food wraps can be used again and again. Once they’re past their prime, simply toss them on the compost heap, where they’ll biodegrade.
We offer a range of beeswax food wrap designs, in small (20cmx25cm) and large (30cmx35cm) sizes. As a guide, the large wraps will fit over a dinner plate. The small wraps are ideal for sandwiches and other smaller food items.
Care Instructions
To prolong the life of your beeswax food wraps, we’ve put together some handy care instructions.
How to use beeswax food wraps
Unfold your beeswax wrap and wrap your food item securely, using the warmth of your hands or fingers to mould and seal the wrap. Your food can then be stored in the fridge or according to the recommended storage instructions.
You can refresh your wraps by placing in an oven on a low heat on a clean baking sheet or parchment for 5/10 minutes. This should only be done to replenish the wrap if it becomes overly cracked or has taken on a slight odour from smelly foods such as onion or cheese.
How to wash beeswax food wraps
Wash with cold, soapy water. Use a soft cloth to wipe gently – sharp or scrubby materials may damage the beeswax coating. Rinse with cold water and hang up to dry.
To extend the life of your wraps, store either rolled or lying flat. Folding will cause the wax to break down more quickly.
