Our Story
PLASTIC-FREE AND PROUDEcopia’s story started out with a spark of an idea that took shape almost overnight.
In November 2019, our little family of three made the decision to be more mindful of the impact of what we consume.
Motivated by the growing problem of plastic pollution and a desire to move away from skin-irritating chemicals, we began to look into sustainable alternatives for typical household products like shampoo and body wash.
A fruitless search for the right kind of products, in plastic-free containers, inspired us to come up with a unique solution: find skin-kind products ourselves, source sustainable containers and start supporting a cleaner, greener community here in Stockport.
As the idea blossomed and we struck up conversations with independent makers, the scope for an online sustainable products store began to widen. We found stockists who shared our ethos – many locally based – and the concept became reality.
Ecopia is run from our home in Hazel Grove, and we personally deliver sustainable bath, body and lifestyle products across Stockport.
As demand has grown for independently-made sustainable living products, we’ve expanded to offer delivery nationwide. It’s our belief that a few simple swaps, made by enough people, can bring about a wave of change.
