Frequently Asked Questions

PLASTIC-FREE AND PROUD

Ecopia is proudly as plastic free as possible. We use recyclable or biodegradable packaging and our packing nuts are made from potato starch. Please reuse your packaging materials if you can.

The products we make and sell are as natural and chemical-free as possible. We prioritise the use of natural ingredients and only work with artisans who share our ethos.

The skincare products we stock are formulated for sensitive skin and made with as few chemicals as possible. Many of our products are scented with essential oils, so we recommend checking the ingredients list of each product before placing an order.

A small number of the products we stock contain sustainable palm oil. Please check the ingredients of the product before placing your order – ingredients are listed alongside the product descriptions.

Almost all of the products we stock are vegan. The beeswax food wraps we sell are made ethically by a local family with their own pet bees.

Our ethos is one of sustainability, which means respecting both planet and people. Rather than lining the pockets of big businesses, we work with real people who use their skills to make products themselves.

The independent businesses we collaborate with share our vision for sustainability, prioritising the use of natural ingredients, ethical practices and respect for the environment.

We offer a deposit and refill scheme for Stockport residents on some of our products to encourage locals to reduce waste.

Customers pay a £2 deposit for an aluminium bottle or a glass candle jar, which can be cleaned and refilled time and again. When the container is empty, we’ll take it away for cleaning and replace it with a fresh one.

Alternatively, customers have the option of keeping their jar or bottle to reuse at home, or returning their container undamaged for their deposit back.

Ecopia Stockport makes the refillable eco candles we sell. Most of our other products are made by independent artisans – many locally based.

We work with sustainable indie businesses and makers to foster a spirit of commerce, support local workers and promote the longevity of traditional skills.

We don’t have a physical store. We work out of our home in Stockport, which is why we don’t publicise our address. If you’re local and want to collect your order from us, you’ll have the option to do so at the checkout.

Although we’re solely online, you’ll find our tin candles and gift boxes in a couple of select shops in Bramhall village in the run-up to celebrations like Christmas and Mother’s Day. Keep an eye on our Facebook page or Instagram profiles to find out who’s stocking our candles currently.

If you aren’t completely satisfied with your order and wish to return a product, please email us at info@EcopiaStockport.co.uk with your order number and details. Let us know what you want to return and why – we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. All items must be returned within 28 days, unopened and in good condition.

Delivery costs are worked out at the checkout using Royal Mail’s pricing schedule. Small parcel postage starts at £3.70 for up to 1kg and medium parcel postage starts at £5.90 for up to 1kg. Postage includes compensation up to £20.00.

Orders placed before 3pm will be posted the next business day on a standard 3 to 4-day delivery schedule.

Yes, we’re insured by Towergate Riskline for up to £5 million.

We’re conscious of keeping our environmental impact to a minimum, so we currently only ship to the UK.
